Bom Bom Scarves are the latest craze to come out of northern Thailand. While we associate Thailand with hot weather, it can get quite chilly up in the northern regions, so imaginative Thais - not being content with a regular scarf - came up with the Bom Bom. It's made up of many tassles with soft woollen balls at the end of each one.

The balls trap heat but the big gaps ensure there's no heat build up so you'll feel comfortably warm for hours at a time.

They're ideal to wear while in your house or outside (even if you look like you've been welcomed to some Pacific island wearing one!). You wrap it around your neck like a regular scarf and it keeps you warm. However, unlike a regular scarf, you won't start to feel hot around your neck - because the woollen balls are on tassles the heat they trap is away from your body - so you can wear one for hours keeping constantly warm without being uncomfortably hot.
