 | Some call it the “Forgotten War” in the war on terror, but Pat Johnson and some friends haven’t forgotten American forces fighting in Afghanistan. The group recently hand-made more than 60 scarves for the men and women of the U.S. Armed Services serving and is about to ship them off.
Pat has been a lifelong knitter but hadn’t pulled out her needles for quite a while when she began the effort. Pat says the idea to make and donate the scarves came to her last year after she saw a news story on the bleak and forbidding circumstances faced by soldiers in Afghanistan. | |
